“Springtime in Paris”
The 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show
With all the snow we have had this Winter the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show was an event I was looking forward to. There have been years in the past when we have gone and it has been freezing, but today it was just perfect! For the first time I believed Spring really was just a few weeks away! The show is a tradition in the city since 1829. The annual event — the largest indoor flower show in the country with 10 acres of floral designs and lush plants — is an easy day trip and always a lot of fun, as well as great inspiration! I was really excited for this years theme, “Springtime in Paris”. I was expecting displays evoking French grandeur and romance, courtyards and cafes... But in my opinion there was only one display that really stood out as a Parisian paradise to me... and not surprisingly it was also voted “Best in Show.” Take a look...
I LOVED the “flower curtains”.
Especially with the ornate gold scones on both sides...
The show is scheduled to run from Sunday, March 6 through Sunday, March 13
