Fall Floral Arrangements

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! One of my favorite Sunday activities is picking out flowers and making a floral arrangement to enjoy all week. I never know what it will be until I see whats available! When I dont have time to go to a Florist I usually pick up my flowers at the Grocery store, I always find great flowers at Trader Joe's and Wholefoods! I love all the Fall options, and have collected a few great arrangements for inspiration...

I love the idea of using a pumpkin as your vase. With the orange and yellow arrangements of roses, daffodils ranunculus and calla lilies make the white pumpkin shell a perfect complement to the colors!
I always love seeing fruits and vegetables in floral arrangements. I love this purple Artichoke Arrangement (the edible head of an artichoke is actually an immature flower!) This might be a fun one to try? Or maybe I will pick up some pomegranates, berries, tulips, roses and ranunculus and try this great magnolia leave centerpiece (finding the magnolia leaves might be hard, Our Magnolia we always get in the store this time of year have not arrived yet!

Mums are easy flowers to find -- most local markets, garden centers and florist have a wide assortment this time of the year.

All wonderful choices! I will let you know how my arrangement turns out!

Seaside living, sophisticated shore decor

Isnt this a living room your would love to sit in with your girlfriends and a couple bottles of wine?!?!
This "Seaside Living room" was featured in the February 2009 Issue of House Beautiful. It was designed by Annie Selke. I LOVE the Everly square cocktail tables with the glass orbs on them. I sold similar orbs in the store this summer and will have to order some more! I really like the mix of the Track arm sofa and the Bertram rounded arm chairs. The curtains are Shalini blue marine from Calico Corners, I think I love them, and would love to get a better look at them...

Hmm. Not what I was expecting from the picture of the curtains above. After seeing the close up (Found at Calico Corners) I will plead the fifth on this one as I LOVE the rest of the design...  

I would try something like this (Martyn Lawrence Fabrics) to get a similar look...

Daily Obsessions... HB Home Blue Geometric Curtains

Today I spent most of the day working on design projects I have going on, looking at furniture and fabrics all over fairfield country with a friend. (And its called "Work"?!? So fun...) We started up in Westport, at HB Home... HB Home has a great selection of fabrics, both their own designs, and other well knows fabric companies. The staff is so nice to work with, and I promise if you havent been already you will love it. (HB Home is in Westport AND Greenwich, and they have a different selection if each store!)

Among the fabrics I found, was this ever popular blue geometric pattern they have hanging as curtains. Notice the picture I took on the bottom left of the brass curtain hardware...amazing.

Isnt it great? It comes in a full assortment of colors, and I think it can go wit just about anything!

Grass Cloth walls, what color to pick!

I have been thinking about re painting my kitchen and dining room, and have been throwing around the idea of grass cloth for the dining room. I love the popular look, and am trying to decide on a color.
Whats your favorite?

I found a great instructional on jh-home.com, along with some more pictures. If you are brave enough to try it on your own check out their instruction. I know I dont have the patience to do it on my own. But I think I am leaning towards a grayish blue.
